I am originally from the Boston and I attended Boston College and received a B.A. in Psychology in 1985 and an M.S.W. in Clinical Social Work in 1988. I began my professional career as a social worker working for 12 years with Boston-area children and families. I started a private practice in 1993 and also began working part time at a wonderful play-based preschool on a working farm in Brookline, MA called The Apple Orchard School. While working there I returned to school to obtain a M.Ed. in Early Childhood Education from Wheelock College in 1998. Thus began a 27 year career as a senior lead teacher in one of their pre-K classrooms, as well as one of the school’s music teachers and later as the school’s puppeteer, developing and performing puppet shows to address the socio-emotional needs the children. I was also instrumental in helping to develop their outdoor curriculum, a natural fit for me as an outdoor and science enthusiast. Throughout this time I have also maintained an active career as a professional musician, performing and recording as a singer/songwriter and as an instrumentalist in my own project as well as in different musical groups. In my free time I enjoy gardening, cooking and going on hikes with my dog. I recently relocated full time to Bethel, VT, and completed my Director 2 certification. I am excited to join the team at The Rainbow Playschool. I look forward to bringing my skills and experience to the role of Program Director!
